Thanks Kim :) Still using a blind, but I switched from the tent blind to using a chair blind. More comfortable. Used the 100-400 L lens but with the blind I can use the 70-200 L no problem and get the same quality shots since I can get just about as close as I need. The real secret to the improvement since when I started way back when is finding interesting perches and placing them just right, near the feeders to encourage the birds to use them in the best lit parts of my yard. And the suet has helped keep most of them there long enough for good poses. Chickadees and Titmice fly straight to the feeder no matter what so they are very difficult.
I was really jealous of Nonda and Vandana when they would post beautiful bird shot after bird shot on the dailies and it made me experiment and plot and plan until I could get good ones too :)

I am the color opposite of this gorgeous photo...green with envy! Your bird shots are stunning! Tack sharp too! The detail is superb!!! Are you still in the blind? Can I ask what lens you used? Darn, I'm so wanting to take shots like this :-) I tried to find the program you so kindly shared with me...it appears that it is only for Windows? ? Ok, I have used all my adjectives up, asked most of the questions that are bursting from my brain...and will just stare at the screen for a while and enjoy this little house finch.. :-)
